Ben Affleck looked at the factors that caused him and Jennifer Lopez's 2003 film Gigli to do poorly at the box office.
During his conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the Batman star revealed what he learned from the project.
"But really, the truth about that movie and what it taught me was that everything around a film determines the way people see it," he said. "But being a movie that's such a famous bomb and disaster, very few people have actually seen the movie. It doesn't work, by the way. It's like a horse's head in a cow's body."
The Tender Bar actor also admitted that his dating with JLo during the filming of the film created a huge buzz that it took away the limelight from the film.
"And the studio at the time, because I started this relationship with Jennifer Lopez, which was selling a lot of magazines and generating a lot of excitement, they speculated, 'They want a romantic comedy. They both want together. That and more!' And it was just like the SNL sketch: 'Bad idea,'" Affleck shared.
"Funny name, Jennifer Lopez romance, and excessive exposure to that, it was a perfect storm... and I thought it's just spectacular, it's a tsunami, it can't get worse. It's as bad as it gets." is,” he recalled.
However, the 49-year-old actor doesn't regret taking up that project as he 'got to meet Lopez' and bringing her "relationship (that) into my life has been really meaningful to me." Affleck said.
