Milan: Miuccia Prada looked to Hollywood for inspiration as the Italian luxury label unveiled its autumn-winter 2022-23 collection on Sunday, using 10 actors including Hollywood A-lister Jeff Goldblum to model classically chic menswear while all were in violation of certain rules.
Among them were David Lynch favorites Kyle MacLachlan ("Twin Peaks"), Jeff Goldblum ("The Fly", "Jurassic Park"), Asa Butterfield and Thomas Brody-Sangster ("Bright Star").
Despite their wealth of experience as actors, some seemed out of their element.
Prada said she wanted to use "real men, recognized celebrities ... who present a new side of reality" as actors.
This collection mixes and matches gray, black and blue sober coats and blazers with work outfits in fluorescent colors cut from leather or luxury cotton.
“Through these clothes, we emphasize that everything a human being does is important,” said Miuccia Prada, 72, who heads the group founded by her grandfather in 1913.
"Every aspect of reality can be elegant and dignified."
Men's Fashion Week, which runs until Tuesday, was blinded by the emergence of the highly contagious Omicron version of Covid, with many homes rushing out.
Giorgio Armani canceled his show in Milan as well as his haute couture show in Paris, leading to an exodus that increased the number of in-person events from 23 to 16.
