Mercury may fall to single digits in Karachi this week: Met Office



 KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday said that the ongoing cold wave in Karachi is likely to intensify, with the mercury likely to drop to a single digit in the port city by the end of this week.

"The minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to drop to single digits by January 22-23," forecast Dr Sardar Sarfaraz, Chief Meteorologist, Meteorological Department. He said that cold wave is likely to intensify in the city during this entire week.

However, ruling out the possibility of rain in Karachi and other cities of Sindh, he said Sukkur and Larkana may receive rain on January 21 and 22.

There may be more light snowfall in Muri this week, forecast the Chief Meteorologist.

In its daily forecast, the PMD said, "Most parts of the country are likely to remain cloudy with light rain/snow likely over North Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas." is. Monday]."
