Less than six weeks ago the Patriots moved to Buffalo and the Bills suffered a 14-10 loss in Monday Night Football, leaving many viewing New England as a Dark Horse Super Bowl contender.
Saturday night's wild-card rematch didn't deter anyone from that notion.
The Bills knocked the Patriots out of the frigid Highmark Stadium field, controlling the game from early possession to a 47–17 victory. That gap represented the second largest for New England in the Bill Belichick era, with Buffalo scoring touchdowns on their first seven properties of the game. With the loss, the Patriots haven't won a playoff game since their 13-3 win over the Rams in Super Bowl LIII - just 1,077 days earlier.
Unsurprisingly, the football world had a lot to say about the display put on by the Bills, with more than a little bit of schadenfreude at New England’s expense. Check out the best of the bunch below:
Bro, The Bills are beating the Patriots for the sins of their ancestors.

They are cutting the hell up. When it’s your turn, it’s your turn.
“But but but it’s the Patriots!

How is this happening?”
Because the Bills have better players and a much better team, idiots.
Worst Patriots loss in the Belichick era:

All to the Bills. pic.twitter.com/OHmOJPhBwG
I’d describe this Patriots loss as “grim.”

The Patriots haven't forced the Bills to punt in two straight games.

THE PATRIOTS HAVEN'T FORCED THE BILLS TO PUNT IN TWO STRAIGHT GAMES.
Josh Allen is the first QB in our database to have a playoff game with 300+ passing yards, 5+ passing TDs, and 60+ rushing yards pic.twitter.com/pWZOc01aqB

The PERFECT passer rating is 158.3. #Bills Josh Allen was 157.6 in a playoff game vs a top 5 #Patriots defense.

Jones to Bourne for the Patriots touchdown.

But we're still up by 30 if you're counting from home.

Bills 7th touchdown of the game goes to offensive lineman Tommy Doyle, this makes up for 20 years of Patriots-Bills misery. @WGRZ #NFL #BillsMafia

I'd pay a reporter every dollar in my bank account to ask Bill Belichick for his New Year's Resolutions in the postgame press conference tonight.

Sideline reporter doing a chicken broth review in the 4th quarter like it’s Chopped. Bill Belichick down bad.

Before today the Patriots under Bill Belichick have never:
— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) January 16, 2022
✔️ Allowed 25+ pts in a first half (BUF: 27 pts)
✔️ Trailed by 20+ pts at halftime in a playoff game (losing by 24)
✔️ Allowed a QB to have 2+ pass TD & 50+ rush yds in a playoff game (Josh Allen: 2 TD & 63 rush yds)
Josh Allen had 5 pass TD and 0 INT for the Bills tonight
— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) January 16, 2022
The only QB to finish a game with 5+ pass TD & 0 INT vs a team with Bill Belichick as its head coach was Drew Brees in Week 12, 2009 (5 pass TD in 38-17 win)
Brees and the @Saints went on to win the Super Bowl that season
The Buffalo Bills just had the NFL’s first ever perfect offensive game.

No punts. No picks. No fumbles lost. No field goals. All touchdowns on every single drive until the kneel downs.
And they did it against a top five defense.
