Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain has been reported for suspicious bowling action by the umpires in the Big Bash League.
Hasnain was to test his bowling action at the ICC-accredited Biomechanics Laboratory in Lahore on Tuesday, ESPN Cricinfo reported.
The 21-year-old has done well in five matches with Sydney Thunder.
His action in Australia was to undergo a test on 19 January, but as he was to return to Pakistan at the end of his term and because there is an ICC-accredited testing facility in Lahore, it was decided that he would be tested. There, the publication said.
If his action on trial looks valid, he will continue to play as usual. But if he is found to be taking illegal action, he will be suspended from bowling in international cricket and domestic events around the world until he improves his action, ESPNcricinfo said.
Test results are very important for him as the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to begin in Karachi from January 27 and he is one of the key players of Quetta Gladiators.
Under section 11.5 of the ICC's Rules and Illegal Actions Protocol, the PCB - as Hasnain's national cricket federation - can allow him to bowl at their domestic events.
ESPN Cricinfo said Hasnain could be allowed to bowl in the PSL, although in the past he has not allowed bowlers with questionable action to bowl in the league.
In any case, he is allowed to bowl until the results of his test are in, which may take up to 14 days. This means Hasnain can bowl in the opening matches of the PSL.
