Jack Della Madalena
made a statement on his UFC debut.

The Dana White Contender Series alumnus secured a TKO finish in his promotional debut, holding off Pete Rodriguez in the 2:59 mark of Round 1. The welterweight competition went down to the preliminary card at the UFC 270 event in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday.

It took a while for Maddalena (11-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) to move on. Right after the bell, the 25-year-old pressed Rodriguez (4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and quickly thrashed him, bleeding his nose. In a counter straight to the left, Madalena dropped Rodriguez and quickly followed with a ground-and-pound to secure the win.

With this win, Maddalena is now on an impressive streak of 11 fight wins. He has been unbeaten since losing his first two fights as a professional in 2016.
