Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle Sr. has accused his daughter and Prince Harry of 'abandoning' her
As Express UK reports, Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle Sr has accused his daughter and Prince Harry of 'abandoning' her when he was allegedly fired by the press following their high-profile engagement.
In his new YouTube show called Remarkable Friendships, Thomas claimed the royal couple didn't help him deal with the increasing media attention following their royal engagement and the subsequent wedding.
Thomas accused Harry of not giving him any useful advice on how to address the media, but to 'ignore' him, which he says the prince himself failed to do.
“When all the press searched for me, no one came to protect me or help me. I got no help from anyone. I kept saying I needed help and the only answer was from Harry,” claimed Thomas did.
He continued: "He said, 'The best advice I can give you is to never talk to anyone.' He said, 'Never talk to the press.' So it didn't really work for me."
“I was bullied by the press for a few years. And it takes a lot of you and people can see that it hurt me a lot for a while,” Thomas said.
In the same episode, he also criticized Harry and Meghan for talking to the press themselves, citing their infamous statement about Harry's show with Oprah Winfrey as well as James Corden.
Thomas has not met his daughter, Duchess Meghan, before marrying Prince Harry.
